A book is published after each year’s award and these books represent a chronicle of Mexico’s recent construction, architecture and civil engineering. In this particular publication, readers will find information on the most outstanding works of very different kinds built throughout the nation and registered as participants in the XVII Edition of the CEMEX BUILDING AWARD. Like the event, the book recognizes the efforts of all members of the construction teams presenting the different projects: the clients or promoters who conceived them; the architects or designers who planned them; the engineers who made the plans technically viable; and the builders who made the projects a reality.

The series of publications, entirely a result of CEMEX’s initiative, shows the best of Mexico’s construction industry and the talent of professionals who seek to leave a mark through their projects. It represents a historical record of Mexico’s most outstanding contemporary buildings.
The books also include a description of the projects winning the two Special Awards of the CEMEX BUILDING AWARD: that for Sustainable Architecture, conceived to recognize works that contribute to maintaining the fragile balance of the environment; and that for Accessibility Congruence, designed to celebrate builders who accommodate their structures to the special needs of the handicapped.

Reference is also made to the Lifetime Achievement Award, that each year distinguishes a construction professional with a track record of outstanding building projects.
